Your goal is to establish bridgeheads across the Dvina River between Riga and Daugavpils, and to hold those bridgeheads against the inevitable counter attack. Playing the game will give you a better understanding of the events that unfolded in Russia those seven days in June (22nd - 29th). The capabilities of the opposing forces have been quantified, so you can study their strengths and weaknesses. You can see how the terrain had an impact on the course of the battle. You can explore different tactics and strategies. You can experience the history.
